Quang Nam, July 9, 2025 – The Saigon Import-Export Training and Consulting Center (SIMEX) successfully organized an "Advanced Import-Export Logistics Training" course specifically tailored for the officers and employees of HS HYOSUNG QUANG NAM Co., Ltd. in Quang Nam. The two-day course was designed to enhance professional and managerial competencies in the field of import and export.
The main goal of the program was to equip participants with the skills to competently handle the export-import process of a shipment, solve complex issues, and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world practice. The training targeted staff members working in the Import-Export, Sales, and Purchasing departments of HS HYOSUNG QUANG NAM who need in-depth knowledge for operational and managerial effectiveness.
The course was led by PhD Candidate Dr. Le Sai Gon, an expert from SIMEX. The curriculum was both comprehensive and intensive, focusing on practical business scenarios relevant to HYOSUNG, including:

In-depth analysis and application of Incoterms 2020 and 2010 based on HYOSUNG’s business activities, with guidance on how to memorize and apply them, connect them with payment methods, construct sales terms, work with carriers, and draft contracts that mitigate business risks.

Detailed examination of purchase contracts, including guidance on negotiating common international trade agreements such as Sales/Purchase Contracts, Principal/General Agreements, and introductions to special types like OEM, Back-to-back Contracts, Exclusive Contracts, G-2-G agreements, Entrusted Import-Export Contracts, Brokerage Agreements, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU). Participants also learned about equivalent documents such as Purchase Orders (P/O), Pro-forma Invoices (P/I), Sales Confirmations, and how to negotiate Win-Win deals.

International payment methods, with a special focus on payment policies for HYOSUNG. Covered methods included Telegraphic Transfer (T/T), Documentary Collection, Cash Against Documents (CAD), and especially Letters of Credit (L/C). The training walked through procedures with partners and banks, how to open, read, verify, and amend L/Cs, cost structures, common L/C types, key contract and document considerations to avoid penalties, as well as L/C-related risks and benefits for buyers/sellers.

In-depth analysis of import-export shipping documents, including practical review sessions of HYOSUNG’s document sets. Important documents included Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Quality/Quantity and Weight/Tally Sheets, Certificates of Origin, Bills of Lading, Fumigation Certificates, Insurance Certificates, and Bills of Exchange. Special focus was placed on favorable types of Bills of Lading for importers and C/O documents to avoid customs rejection.

Product classification – HS Code – Customs Valuation, with a particular focus on HYOSUNG’s paper products. Topics included HS Code structure and classification rules, differences between Vietnam’s HS codes and international standards, practical guidelines for code application, working with customs, customs valuation methods under GATT, customs value consultations, and tax exemptions/reductions/refunds. The course also examined tax formulas and introduced major trade agreements Vietnam participates in.

Customs clearance process and electronic customs declarations for imports and exports, along with relevant legal matters. The training focused on HS HYOSUNG’s product categories and declaration types. Content included an overview of the customs clearance process, labeling and quality inspection regulations, instructions and practice for submitting electronic declarations for various import types (commercial imports, on-site imports), and how to collaborate with logistics service providers.
Through this program, SIMEX has provided HS HYOSUNG QUANG NAM staff with specialized knowledge and skills, enabling them to confidently handle real-world scenarios and optimize their workflow.
