Mr. Le Sai Gon, a SIMEX expert, delivered practical, useful, and engaging lecture modules, which were well-received by the participating businesses.
About the "Green Export Incubation and Acceleration Program through Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS)":
The program is a crucial part of Component 3 of the “Vietnam Trade Policy and Export Promotion” (SwissTrade) Project, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses in the international market through green exports – a growing global trend in sustainable trade.
Benefits of participating in the program:
Businesses participating in the program will have the opportunity to access in-depth knowledge and tools for green exports, while also practicing and developing sustainable business models. Specifically:
-
Enhancing capacity and knowledge of green exports: Receive in-depth training on the latest concepts, regulations, and trends related to sustainable supply chains, green consumer markets, and international VSS (Voluntary Sustainability Standards) certifications.
-
Increasing competitiveness and profits through VSS compliance: Meeting sustainability standards not only opens doors to high-end markets but also helps businesses improve production processes, save costs, and enhance brand reputation in the global market.
-
Connecting and expanding international business networks: Businesses will have the opportunity to connect with domestic and international experts, international buyers, investors, and organizations supporting green export development.
-
Opportunity to receive funding and intensive technical support for 6 months: Businesses in the Spice, Coffee, and Nut sectors may be selected to participate in a tailored, individualized training program, with guidance from leading experts in green trade and sustainable development.
Importance of exporting through the application of sustainability standards:
In a world rapidly transitioning to a green and circular economy, compliance with Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) is becoming a prerequisite for businesses to maintain competitiveness, especially in demanding markets like Europe, the US, and Japan. VSS is not just a "passport" that helps Vietnamese products reach the world, but also a tool to boost internal business strength, contributing to the sustainable development of the national agriculture and export sectors.
