    8. Give quotations: Prices

    -The net price of this article is $100, to which VAT must be added at 17.5%, making a gross price of $117.5.

    -We can quote you a gross price, inclusive of delivery charges, of $347.5 per 100 items. These goods are exempt from VAT.

    -The prices quoted above are provisional, since we may be compelled by the increasing cost of raw materials to raise them. I will inform you immediately if this happens.

    -We can offer you a price of $5200 per engine, firm 21 days, after which the price will be subject to an increase of 5%.

    -The price of this model is ¥2800000 at today’s rate of exchange.

    -We can quote you a price of €300 per 100 units, though I regret that, because of fluctuating exchange rates, we can only hold this price for four weeks from today’s date.

    -The net price of $530 per unit is extremely competitive.

    -We allow a 3% cash discount for payment within one month.

    -The net price of this model is $750, less 10% discount for quantities of fewer than / up to 100 and 15% discount for quantities over 100.

    -The prices quoted are CFR Yokohama, but are subject to a 20% trade discount off net price. We can offer a further 10% discount off net prices for orders of more than / over 2000 units.

    -We do not normally give discounts to private customers, but because of your long association with our company we can offer you 12% off the retail price.

    -We are willing to offer you a discount of 5% / a 5% discount for/on orders (for quantities) of 1500 units or more.

    -To maintain your custom with us / In view of your past custom with us, we will offer an additional rate of 5% to bona fide wholesalers like you.

    Express regret

    -Because of their low price and small profit margin we are working on / As the quoted prices have left us with the smallest profit margin, we will not be offering any trade discounts on this consignment.

    11. Give quotations: Methods of payment

    -Payment should be made by L/C at 60 days sight ...

    -Payment for initial orders should be made by sight draft, payable at Den Norske Creditbank, Kirkegaten 21, Oslo 1, cash against documents.

    -We are willing to consider open account facilities if you can provide the necessary bank reference.

    -On receipt of a cheque for the amount quoted, we will send the article by registered mail.

    Express regret

    -We regret our inability to accept payment by T/T ...

    -We are sorry that we cannot see our way to accept your requirement for payment by D/A ...

    -We find it impossible to offer any credit for this consignment as we often work on low profit for fast turnover.

    12. Quote delivery date

    -Delivery can be made without delay / within 15 days upon receipt of your official order.

    -Your goods will reach you within 30 days of the order.

    -Upon / On receipt of your firm order, the goods will certainly be arranged for dispatch without delay and you will have the goods at hands in only 15 days.

    -We are pleased to say that we can delivery by November 1, so you will have stock for the Christmas sales period.

    -As there are regular sailings from Liverpool to New York, we are sure that the consignment will reach you well within the time you specified.

    -We are pleased to say that we are able to make immediate delivery of the products as you required.

    -We can supply from stock and will have no trouble in meeting your delivery date.

    -We have the materials in stock and will ship them immediately we receive your order.

    Express regret

    -As there is a heavy demand for fans at this time of year, please allow at least six weeks for delivery.

    -As the demand for this range is extremely high at this time of the year, you will have to wait another six weeks before we can make delivery.

    -We would not be able to delivery within two weeks of receipt of order, as we would need time to prepare the materials. However, we could guarantee delivery within four weeks.

    -Delivery within two weeks seems / appears to be impossible for us as we have to collect the goods from our suppliers.
